RandD > 2008.07.20 (Sun) - Robin had to work early again, she woke me while getting ready to work and I got up about 5AM and decided to go look for my daily photo early. I drove out to where I work looking for something that didn't work out so I drove around until I spotted this building that looked very interesting in the morning light. I took several shots but I liked this one the best. I returned home in time to take B & Bri to church, I skipped service and returned home to begin cleaning. We invited some new friends over for dinner so I spent the morning cleaning, mopping, waxing, and doing yardwork to prepare. Robin got home around 3PM which didn't leave her much time to prepare, thank goodness they were on IST (India Stretchable Time), this gave us just enough time to have everything ready when they did arrive. Bobby is a good friend of mine, we do lunch every Thursday. Today we were lucky enough to meet his wife Herlin and their children, Simr and Ungad. Robin prepared a great diner, Kayla and Peyton showed up and the kids all got to swim while we adults got to know each other a little better. It was nice having Bobby and his family over, they are such a nice family. I hope we can do it again soon. Well, time for me to get to bed, I have jury duty tomorrow! -Darron
RandD > 2009.03.04 (Wed) - Lincoln Heritage Good day at work, made some calls during the lunch hour to arrange for a boat rental for Saturday morning photo plans with Robin on our anniversary. Finally found a place that will rent to us, should hear for sure by tomorrow. Got home and grabbed Robin and then went over to Bill Smith Photography to pick up senior portraits for Jen and Brandon. They didn't have the CD's we ordered so we'll have to go back later to get those. After picking up the framed prints we headed out to Lincoln for dinner and desert. After desert we walked up and down the main strip with the camera and tripod. I liked this shot of the Lincoln Heritage Theater best. Hope you all had a good day, until tomorrow... Darron
RandD > 2008.12.29 (Mon) - Back to work, I was glad to get home. Peyton was there so I got to "recharge my batteries" with hugs and kisses from her, Kayla, and R. All I can say is that Peyton is sooooo adorable! Until tomorrow, Darron
RandD > 2009.03.25 (Wed) - Robin, more than photogenic Had a pretty good day, I read the news article about the death of my friend's son. When I learned this morning that Andrew had committed suicide it hit me hard. I hugged my son a little longer than usual and then drove straight over to see Art. He was back to work already and I knew he was probably having a tough time staying focused so I made it quick, giving him a hug, some kind words, and my phone number. He didn't say much, just that he didn't want to be there. I know how much he loved his son, it was really hard seeing the pain in his eyes. I can't imagine the depth of his sorrow and my prayers go out to him and the rest of his family. I went to work and had a descent day, my petty worries were really put into perspective. Returned home and ate a light and healthy dinner with Robin before taking off to go see my Mom and Pop. After a brief visit and chat about Art, we ran out to Rocklin in search of a daily photo. We found a little park at the highest part of Rocklin where we sat and waited for the sun to set. Grabbed this shot before returning home. Robin is truly my best friend, she is such a beautiful woman, inside and out. I love her so much and I can't imagine doing life without her, she stands by my side and loves me like no one else. Our children are almost all grown now, with Brandon being the last at home and we love them too. I am so lucky to have her to grow old with. I love you Robin! RandD > 2009.01.21 (Thu) - Had a good day, got in to work at 6AM so that I could cut out early. I emailed Kaiser Public Affairs for permission to shoot from their parking garage and still waiting for a response. Got home about 4PM. The drier died a couple of days ago so I pulled it apart and tracked the problem down to a bad heating coil. Called around and found the part for about $50. Put everything back together and started some of the laundry that had been on hold. Grabbed this shot while we watched American Idol, I think I will go to bed, I've got to get up early and run. RandD > 2008.12.12 (Fri) - Had a good day, it was a long week and Robin and I turned in early but I forgot to take a photo so posting one from the other night. I can't imagine what these guys electric bills must look! Until later tonight... Darron
RandD > 2008.07.23 (Wed) - Good day, defense wrapped up it's case and we should begin deliberation tomorrow! After jury duty I returned home to the family. I took B for a hair cut, Jen came over for a while, it was nice seeing her. She brought her friend Holley who seems very nice. We stayed in for dinner and then watched Peyton for a while so Chris and Kayla could go to the movies. I ran off for my regular Wed night book study with the guys and then returned home late but in time to see Chris and Kayla off then the four of us ran out to watch the beavers. We sat silently in the dark an one of the beavers swam right up the the shore just 50 feet in front of us and began walking over to the tree when he spotted us. We could see his eyeballs looking right at us. Well, he was startled and jumped back in the water and disappeared. After giving up on the beavers, we ran out to the Galleria mall where I grabbed this shot, then we ran to Sonic and we ordered some shakes before dropping Briana off at home at 11PM. RandD > 2008.10.31 (Fri) - Happy Halloween. I didn't feel so good when I woke up this morning so I decided to take a sick day. I did the dishes and then rested for a bit. Got to feeling better in the afternoon and got to work making a photoshop stencil. I decided to make a cute pumpkin instead of a scarey one. Petyon is my pumpkin this year. Since I worked so long on my pumpkin of Peyton I decided to make it my daily photo. Hope you all had a happy halloween. Unitl tomorrow, Darron [Update]: I have posted a small gallery of the stencil work I did to carve this pumpkin of Peyton. Click Here to check it out. The photo effect was accomplished by changing the focal length during the six second exposure.
RandD > 2008.07.27 (Sun) - Nice day, Church was good, worship began with a guest band from New Zealand. (Parachute Band) After church Robin and I dropped by to see my Mom and Dad, after that we picked up the kids and then we hung out until Bri had to go home at 3PM. Today marked the beginning of Shark Week on the discovery channel so we watched a lot of sharks. I took off at 5:30 to meet with a guy I am working with, returned around 8PM. I had absolutely no motivation or inspiration for photos. I tried some shots with some chocolate chips but ended up eating them all before getting a good shot. In desparation, I grabbed something off my desk and shot it with the desk lamp for lighting. Sorry for the lack of effort. Good night, Darron
