RandD > 2009.02.21 (Sat) - Sac State Sunrise Robiin and I got up early and headed downtown with the camera looking for somehting to shoot. We ended up at Sacramento State University just as the sun was breaking the horizon. We both got some good shots before running over to Old Soul to see Meredith and grab Robin some tea and a scone. I grabbed a pumpkin muffin, it was great! Returned home and did some chores then relaxed a bit. Brandon was up at "the crack of noon" and we took him out to Denny's for b-fast/lunch. Stiopped in to visit with my parents. Jen, Alicia, and Kayla ran to Rancho to put a deposit down on a wedding dress and they we met up with J & A back at my parents. After all this R and I went back home for a little nap The rest of the day was uneventful. It was a very nice day, see you tomorrow, Darron
RandD > 2008.10.26 (Sun)- Nice easy day, I dropped B off at church early and then Robin and I skipped church to go for a 6 mile walk down secret ravine. The walk was very nice, on the way back to the car we happened across this man painting near the creek. I thought it was cool and grabbed this shot. Picked up B, then went grocery shopping. Later we stopped off to see Penny and Terry, got the email working for them and hung out for a bit before stopping off at my parents for a brief visit. Then back home for a movie and then dinner. RandD > 2008.09.07 (Wed) - Had a good day yesterday, rode my bike to work. Today I drove, we had a productive day even though the power went out for just over an hour. We were able to hash out some of the security design on the white board and do some brainstorming while we were without our computers. Got home, ate dinner, watched some news and then Robin and I dropped B & Bri off at youth. After that we stopped at RITZ camera. Ouch, having more than a little buyers remorse and may just return the item tomorrow. I am doing my 1st photo shoot for a co-worker tomorrow after work, Mike and his girlfriend just had a new baby (John) and they wanted some baby pics. I will bring the camera and the new SB-800 and do my best to get some good shots. Here is one more photo from last Saturday, I wanted to go for a vintage look but unded up with this... RandD > 2009.01.27 (Tue) - Another splash Ran in the morning, time is improving but weight has stayed put. Work went well, was asked to present in a meeting last minute and was very nervous. I didn't exude confidence... Oh well! Got home and ate, then did some grocery shopping for work. Drove around looking for a photo but nothing grabbed me. Stopped by my parents and visited for a while and then headed home. I gave the water drops another attempt but still didn't catch the shot I was trying for. Until tomorrow, Darron
RandD > 2008.08.22 (Fri) - Last Minute Had a good day, drove in early so I could take off early for Jen's B-day party. Corey came over as well, it is Jen's and Coreys 1 year anniversary today too! The party was nice, Jen liked her cards and gifts. We all had dinner together, ate birthday cake, and joked and laughed together until Jen had to go. Kayla arrived to pick up Peyton, we got to hang out with her some as well. After everyone left, I did the dishes for Robin and then helped Brandon get his site set up so that he can access it using FTP. I showed him how to configure the server for ftp access, open the port on the firewall, and then we tested it by doing a VPN into my work computer and then using a command prompt to ftp a file from my work pc to our server. Now B can work on it from school if he needs to! After all that it was getting late and Robin wasn't feeling too good so I didn't want to take off to find a photo. I wandered outside and the car was still out with the top down. I had the 60mm Micro on the camera and climbed into the car and grabbed this shot. Until tomorrow, Darron
RandD > 2009.04.30 (Thu) - God's Children Had an awesome day today, we got up early for our day's adventure with fellow Smugmug Daily Photo friends. We hit the road about 6AM, traffic wasn't too bad so we arrived at SmugMug Headquarters (SMHQ) a bit early. Robin and I drove around Mountainview a bit and got gas and washed the car. We returned in time to meet up with Hillary, Monica, Lady Kate, and Kamryn. We had never met in person and exhanged hugs and smiles before meeting up with Tony, one of the Owners of Smugmug. We were given a tour of their offices and got to meet some of the sorcerers of smug. They had the most spectacular photographs on display, many done by Tony's sons, some by customers, all AMAZING work! The employees were busy with the Thursday releases so we tried not to disrupt them too much or over stay our welcome, they were very friendly and shared a bit with us before they had to get back to work. After SMHQ we took two cars into the city and ended up at Pier 39 where we had lunch and spent some more time getting to know one another a bit better. Robin and I felt very comfortable from the start, we are very happy to call them all friends. After lunch we spent the day slowly walking the pier, smiling, laughing, sharing, and (of course) SHOOTING! Oh, and there was a fair amount of shopping which is to be expected considering five out of six were women! I was the only guy in the whole group and I had a blast with all the ladies! We must have been quite a site, each of us packing cameras and shooting each other and everything around us. At one point the ladies were in yet another shop goofing off and I just stood around outside shooting all the intersting people on the pier. I really liked the shot of this man in the wheel chair. He looked so handsome and there is something in his eyes that really struck me as pure and loving. I know our Father is particularly fond of him, I can't wait to meet him when he is no longer confined by his chair or his body. I was really struck by how we are all God's children and feel very lucky to have experienced His love today and to have shared our love for photography with our new friends. More than that, we shared a friendly love with one another, what a wonderful day I had! Well, we ended up near the Bay Brige shooting a bit there before the gang had to break up, Lady Kate and Kamryn had to part company, we left shortly after that. R and I drove Monica and Kate back to Berkley but not before stopping on Angel Island for a bit. Monica flipped out about all the wonderful spots for shooting, we stopped and played a bit longer before finally dropping them off at the Bart station. The drive home was long, we were tired and got a bit too much sun. We went straight to bed and left posting photos for the next day. Hope you all had a great day, to our new friends... RandD > 2008.09.02 (Tue)- Work was pretty good considering it was a virtual Monday. Went in late and worked until 5:45. The drive home was okay, Robin was off so she was waiting for me when I arrived. She had fun with Justy today, they went shopping. We have our regular Tuesday night deal tonight so I grabbed a quick photo while Robin prepared dinner. We're about to eat and then dash off for the night. Sorry for the lack of effort. RandD > 2009.01.09 (Fri) - Sundown on the work week. Biked in to work today, found a better route that is a little safer and only 13.5 miles one way! Got to work at 6:50 to find that we had an off site mtg scheduled for 8:30 back at SGS. Don was nice enough to drop me off over there, he is a good guy. On the ride back I ran across a few stupid drivers but managed to dodge them and stay upright all the way home. Kayla, Peyton, and Robin where here when I arrived. A quick shower and I was off to drop of B mans Macbook at FedEx, the fan went out and they are going to replace it. I told him he should have gotten a PC! Returned home, made a quick Quiznos run, and then we started our Netflix movie. Eagle Eye was good for effects but more than a little far fetched for me. The girls just liked it because of Shia LaBeouf. Peytee had a blast in a big box of foam peanuts, we sat her in it and she had great fun making a mess of the room. Everyone has gone now, B is still at work and R is ready for bed so all I have for my daily is a shot I grabbed on the way to FedEx. Happy Friday, until tomorrow, Darron
