RandD > 2008.07.15 (Tue) - Biked in today, the bike ride was very nice. It's amazing how much smoother the ride in is when you've got a clean chain and everything is adjusted well. The weather was very nice too, a slight head wind but it felt good to be back on two wheels.

Work went well, the teamwork has been great this last couple of weeks. I went for a short one mile walk around the lunch hour. The ride home was nice but it had really warmed up, I worked up a pretty good sweat and got a nice work out.

After work, we (Robin, B, Bri, and I) hung out, ate dinner, and then visited with Chris, Kayla, and Peyton. Brandon had someone over to purchase his x-box 360, he is planning on upgrading with the money he got.

After all this, Robin and I dropped B & Bri off at Bri's house and then got ready to head out for our regular Tuesday night fellowship. We were running a bit early so we stopped for a quick photo opportunity. I was shooting here the other day and wanted to come back for a better shot of the Cat Tails. While there we noticed a very large tree that some beavers have been working on, it looks like they should have this tree downed in the next day or so, check out what they have done so far!

While there I grabbed this shot and then went on with our evening.

See you tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.07.12 (Sat) - Wow, slept in late today, then got up and posted some comments on other daily photos. Boy, there are some great photographers in the Daily Photo community! Looking at everyones work keeps me very humble, I have a lot to learn!

Robin had to be at work early, Brandon and I ran over to my parents to visit and fix his satellite cable that got clipped when he was trimming his ivy. After that we headed home and arrived just as Robin was returning from work. We watched a movie that Bri hadn't seen (The Patriot) and then the four of us headed to downtown Sac to hang out and shoot some photos. We walked around the capital building then cut over to K street mall and looked for some place to grab a bite to eat. I grabbed this shot as we walked toward towntown plaza.

We left Sac and headed home, stopping at the new Jimboy's Tacos for dinner. While there we ran into Joe Heuvelhorst, a friend I used to work with at Intel. We all had a good chat, finished dinner and then headed home to post my photo.

See you tomorrow,

RandD > 2009.04.17 (Fri) - Long Road, Nearing the End [Day 364]

Had a pretty good morning at work, we interviewed the last of the applicants for the two new development slots and all agreed on the two favorites right around lunch. I forgot my wallet, Rob and I took of for Burger King and he bought me lunch. Hit the drive through and returned to the office so we could get back to work. The afternoon went well, I took off a bit later than usual for a Friday. The drive home was terrible, traffic was very heavy for some reason.

Arrived home to find Robin feeling better, Brandon and Richard cooked us dinner. We ate and then I took off to grab a daily photo. Craig had called to tell me about an old steam locmotive that had arrived in town this morning so I drove over to grab a shot. The sun was setting behind the train and I the area was fenced off and closed to the public until noon tomorrow so I headed west in search of a good sunset shot.

The lighting was not the best so I framed my shot and did a bracket set from -2EV to +2EV at 1EV increments for a total of five shots and then returned home to process as an HDR image. I'm still getting the hang of the PhotoShop HDR processing but was pleased with the end result.

I hope you all had a wonderful day, until tomorrow...

Darron

[PS, I am looking forward to hooking up with LadyKates, Hillary, and Monica in SF at the end of the month]
RandD > 2009.03.10 (Tue) - Yellow There

Typical Tuesday morning at work, ate lunch at my desk and then took off for the rest of the hour looking for something to shoot. Ended up on Excelsior Avenue and Jackson Highway where I shot a couple of ducks (they survived) before walking across the street to grab this shot of some yellow flowers on the side of the road.

Robin called as she was getting off work, I was just headed back to work. She sleeps late tonight, I got home and read for a while, ate some dinner. Now just waiting for Robin to wake up so I can tell her about the rest of my day.

Hope you all had a good Tuesday, until tomorrow...

RandD > 2008.10.21 (Tue) - Up early with Peyton, she woke up before my shower so I had my hands full. Dropped her off at 6:30AM and then off to work. I had another good day at work, made some good progress wiring up the security to some of the menus. I went to lunch with Rob, then worked until 5PM. Returned home to a quiet home, Brandon was working late and Robin sleeping until 9PM. I ran over to Paul T's in Folsom to fix his computer problems and then back home before B got back.

I decided to post a photo from June, no time to find a shot. I took this in Old Fair Oaks, I always liked this clock.

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.08.18 (Mon) - A bit sore today from yesterdays run. Drove in, had a good day at work. Returned home and spent the evening with the family. Robin, B, Bri, Kayla, Peyton, and I all had dinner together... It was nice. Staying home tonight to spend even more time with the fam.

This photo is of an oak leaf with some galls attached to it. I picked it up at work and brought home with me. These small cone shaped galls are formed by a family of small wasps called “cynipid" wasps.

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.05.23 (Fri) - Okay, I shot this after I got home from work and I know that it is not the best photograph. It is out of focus and the ISO was set too high so it is too grainy but I love it. I hope this isn't one of those photos that only the Grandparents can appreciate. :) I'll have more time to devote to tomorrows DP.

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.08.29 (Fri)- Went in late today, got caught up watching the news about McCains veep choice when I realized that I was running late. got in about the same time as Rob and got to work right away. We had a productive morning, had our usual Firday morning donuts and then we were surprised with the news that management was going to be treating us to a lunch pizza party! That was very nice of them, we all hung out and joked around for the lunch hour and then got back to some serious discussions about the new database design. About 3:20 Daithi came in to our office and told us all to take off early and have a nice 3 day weekend. Man, was this a great Friday or what?

Got home and watched some news, then washed the car and grabbed this shot for my daily photo.

I caught up on some of your photos and left some comments, hope you all have a nice weekend.

Until tomorrow,

Darron
RandD > 2008.10.11 (Sat)- She's SO darned cute!

Set up a second network today with a spare switch and router I had lying around. I ordered a 2nd static ip address and got Brandon and Richard set up with their own web server so they can start learning PHP and MySQL.

Robin and I drove out to Plumas Lake, we needed to get a hug from Peyton. I grabbed this shot of her out in her front yard before we ate dinner.

Robin and I returned, I finished configuring the new server while she got caught up on her backlog of shows on TiVo.

Hope you all had a good Saturday...

Until tomorrow,
