RandD > 2008.09.03 (Wed) - I had a great day, work was good. The drive home was a bit slow but Robin was home when I arrived. The family was hungry so we all went out to eat. After dinner, we dropped Bri off at her place and then ran home. Brandon had some work to do on the Oakmont Website so he stayed home. Robin and I took off for a walk around the neighborhood looking for a daily photo. I spotted this colorful flower, not sure what it is but I thought it looked really neat. Switched to the Macro lens to grab this shot, then, after we completed our walk, we returned home and tuned in for the RNC convention to watch Governor Palin's speech. I was quite pleased. RandD > 2008.07.22 (Tue) - Jury duty is very interesting, I would love to share about it but I am not permitted to. I snuck home at lunch time so I could see Brandon and make sure he was okay since he was home alone. Returned to the courtroom wearing an extra layer, they keep it very cool in there. Sitting and listening all day makes for a long day, I will be glad when it is over. Robin and I took off around 6PM to go see how the beavers have been progressing on the tree. I grabbed some shots of their work and sat in a pile of goose droppings while I was grabbing this shot. We returned home so that I could change and then headed out to our regular Tuesday night crew. We returned to the beavers around 9:15PM and sat quietly and watched them swimming for a while before taking off to get back to Brandon. -Darron Here are the rest of the beaver photos from today.
RandD > 2008.12.21 (Sun) - Had a nice day, R and I slept in a bit. We had breakfast at home and then headed out to wrap up the Christmas shoppping. We picked up Bri on our way back and she and Bri started some baking while B and I hung the outdoor lights. A bit late but I didn't want to catch grief in the future about "the Christmas without lights"! Chris dropped off Peyton about 4:30, we took her to my parents for a quick visit, then returned home for dinner. Robin made Chicken Cordon Bleau, it was great! Peyton is a bundle of energy, we are doing our best to wear her down so she will go to sleep. We watched The Wizard Of Oz with her and now she is starting to wind down for the evening. I needed to grab a shot and thought I would get back to Robin's snowman collection as per popular demand. :) I hope you all had a wonderful day, until tomorrow... Darron
RandD > 2009.03.27 (Fri) - Rocklin Oak Sunrise Had a good day, got up early and took off for Rocklin to catch a sunrise shot. Grabbed a few shots before running back home to check on Brandon who sent a text to say he was saying home sick. Ran to Bel Air and grabbed some groceries for work and then headed for work. Attended an 8:30 meeting and had a muffin and then eturned to the DCA office to continue working on the current module. Robin had a rough day, she headed home for bed and I finished out my day. Traffic was messy, got home and hugged everyone, ate and started our NetFlix DVD. (Transporter 3?) Shot all my photos in RAW this morning by mistake and I've been having issues with my RAW conversions lately, reinstalled some drivers and codecs and got everything working again. RandD > 2008.09.16 (Tue) - I woke up early (4AM) and could not go back to sleep so I got up and hopped online to try and get caught up on the dailies. I am constantly amazed at how talented you all are. Thanks all for your comments on my photos too. Posting another shot from Saturday. This one of my son, he has grown into such a fine young man! I did a lot of processing on this photo. The original photo had many smudges on the glasses, also used some healing brush, then tried several different effects until I arrived at this one. I've got to get ready for work, I think I'll ride in today. Have a great day all.. Darron
RandD > 2009.03.13 (Fri) - Flower Friday What a great day, slept in, got to work late, ran off to our company office for a quick meeting with our folks before returning to the state office. Had a good chat with Mike and Jeff before taking the rest of the day off. Had plans with Samuel again for lunch but he had something come up. I took the opportunity to wander around with the camera and grab some noon shots. Stopped off at Paul Baker Printing to talk to my old co-workers from my old career in Printing. Had a good chat before returning home to do the dishes. Robin was just waking up, we went to lunch at La Bou and then returned home to grab B and Bri and run over to the hospital to see how Bri's mom is doing. While we were waiting for the kids to get out of class Robin and I walked around the corner from our house to grab this flower shot for my daily. Still got half the day to do whatever but thought I would post the daily photo now. Hope you all have a great day and a better weekend! Until tomorrow, Darron
RandD > 2008.06.05 (Thu) - Another very good day. At work we were treated to a BBQ, we had tables set up outside and we all spent the lunch hour hanging out. No shop talk, it was great. After work I dashed home and we watched Peyton for about an hour, then Robin and I decided to go to Cafè of India for dinner. From there we were going to run over to my parents house to fix Dad's printer but we saw a small car show going on outside of Mels Drive-in and we couldn't pass up the chance to grab some photos. We didn't have the camera so we had to quickly run and grab it. There were some very nice cars there, we spent some time chatting with one of the owners before we had to run off. We grabbed several shots, out of the ones I took I liked this one the best. (After some processing) When we finished shooting the cars, we saw my parents, fixed the printer, hung out a bit, then headed home for the evening. See you tomorrow, -Darron
RandD > 2009.04.02 (Thu) - First 1/2 decent HDR Work was as it normally is but a bit quite. R was out with pink-eye and M is pretty quiet. Had some technical issues but got them resolved before lunch. Went to lunch with Bobby, we did Sushi, it was great. His turn to pay and it wasn't cheap. I'll have to take us to someplace nice next week. After work I ran home to pick up Brandon and the new Bench that Robin got for Chris, Kayla, and Peyton. Got everything loaded up and headed up to see the girls. Kayla and Peyton were happy to see us, we grabbed huggs and then headed to Marysville for dinner and another goose chasing good time at lake Ellis. While there I grabbed several bracketed shots with the intention to attempt another HDR. R, at work, sent me a link to a photoshop HRD how-to and this is the end result. I could use some practice using the curves tool to tone map my images but I think I did okay. Thanks "R"ob! Hope you all had a great day, until tomorrow, Darron
