RandD > 2009.03.23 (Mon) - Cathedral Monday

Had a good day, got up a little late, drove to my church in the morning looking for a daily shot. The sunrise was very orange and I had a shot in mind but there were some trees that needed to come down and I didn't have a chain saw so I passed on the shot. Drove into work and forgot my badge so I couldn't get in. I called Don but the number was forwarding incorrectly so I just hung out until the next state employee showed up and I rode in on their coat-tails.

Quickly checked my email and found some very kind notes from some of the new friends I met Saturday morning, seems like I have really found a good group of men to hang out with. I'm really looking forward to next Saturday!

The morning was fairly productive, Rob and I went to Quiznos for lunch, he is a pretty cool guy. We had a good chat over lunch. After lunch I resolved some of the issues I was having last Friday, took off about 4:30 and arrived home to find Robin cooking dinner. We ate together and then took off with the camera looking for a daily shot. We shot some churches in our area, then drove into Sacramento to grab this shot of the Cathedral on K street.

Returned home to Brandon who got back from his small group meeting right after we left. He is busy playing x-box, Robin has headed to our room and I am right behind her.

Hope you all had a great Monday and I wish you all an even better Tuesday!

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.12.16 (Tue) - Biked in today, took the shortest route which turned out to be 14 miles. It started to sprinkle on me the last couple of miles, I made it in just before it started pouring! I finally got badge access to the showers so I was able to take a real shower instead of doing the "Superman Phone Booth" routine in the mens room.

Work was busy with more software design specifications. We ended up having a late design meeting so I got out of work late. It got dark about mile four and lost my headlight at mile 10 so the last four I had to be very cautious.

Got home, started my laundry, cleaned up, ate dinner and filled out some benefits paperwork before Robin got up. I had to snag a daily photo and I decided on another snow-man shot after commenting on Karina's snowman.

We have so many snow men, these we got from Robin's mom. We are the Five Pals, and these are our snowman alter egos? Heh...

Hope you all had a good day. Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.10.06 (Mon) - Had a good day at work. After work I hung out with the family, then we ate a nice healthy dinner and then Robin and I went for a walk. I grabbed this photo just down the street from our place.

We ended up at my parents, we had a nice visit and then headed home around dusk. We were intercepted by B & Bri, they went out for a bike ride and picked us up just as we were leaving my parents. It was a nice walk.

I hope you all had a nice day, until tomorrow...

RandD > 2008.07.29 (Tue) - 4 wheels to work today, took the camera with me in hopes of catching the monster spider and web outside my office window but the landscapers came through and took him out again. He's started rebuilding again so maybe later this week. Work was work, took off after 8 hrs, Robin and I timed our arrival home pretty well.

We took off with the kids to Hollywood to rent a movie, then went to check and see if the beaver tree is still standing. It was. We were earlier than usual so the lighting was better and we got lucky with an early sighting. I had the 2x extender on the camera when i grabbed this shot. I lost my balance walking a fallen log and had to step into the pond to avoid falling into the water with the camera. The water is very mucky and my shoes are no longer white. I need to get a pair of waders.

Hope your day went well. I'm off to watch the movie with the family.

RandD > 2008.07.09 (Wed) - Up early and off to work on 4 wheels again. It was very smokey today and got much worse late in the day so I am really glad I drove. Wrapped things up about 4PM and headed home, traffic was a mess. Arrived home and hung out with Brandon. We made ham sandwitches for dinner and then watched S.W.A.T. together. After that, he hopped on X-Box live while I checked my email to see if John Murphy had got back to me with more about focus stacking, he had... I downloaded some software (CombineZM) and played around with it until I got somewhat familiar with it.

I stacked 17 images of this model mustang to create todays daily photo. Thanks John for sharing with me, I will continue to play with it some more and see if I can make some improvements.

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.09.25 (Thu) - [John and Jen]

Another shot from last week, I was burning a DVD of the baby pics from last Thursday and decided to make this pic my daily for the today while I was at it.

Last night I put everything together so I could bike in today but for some reason my alarm didn't get set so I woke up late and had to drive in today. Work was good, did my usual Thursday lunch with Bobby. We ended up at Casa Ramos, the food was good. Worked a bit late so I got home late, Robin was sleeping. B & I ran to the grocery store and then watched the news for a bit. Now ready to kick off the shoes and relax for the evening.

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.06.06 (Fri) - Biked to work today, I had a pretty stiff head wind all the way home, it was a very good workout. Got home and showered, then watched the end of Evan Almighty with the family before taking off to a nearby carnival to get some photos. I didn't take one shot! Robin took a few good ones, I wished I could have posted one of hers but this is Darron Daily so I had to look for something to shoot. I decided to try the CD water drops again.

I tired a different light source, a smaller tripod, and experimented with the light angle as well as the CD angle but was not satisfied with any of the shots. Robin is waiting for me in bed and I don't want to be up all night so here is the best of the bunch.

Good night,

Darron
RandD > 2008.06.01 (Sun) - Well we had a good day, didn't do anything too exciting. It was a typical Sunday, church, shopping, and a dip in the pool. We did go to a nice picnic at Fair Oaks park, we 'ran into' about 80 good friends there and hung out for a couple of hours but didn't take any photos.

After we got home I was running low on inspiration so I decided to try the "classic" CD water droplet shot that I've seen many times. I had the worst time. I don't know how the heck to do it. I wasn't happy with any of the attempts and I was tired and ready for bed so I picked the best of the bunch. Maybe someone could share some tips with me on how you nail this shot?

God bless you all, until tomorrow...

RandD > 2009.02.27 (Fri) - Fair Oaks Blossoms

Up early, made a stop on my way to work to grab this shot. Work went well, was in meetings all morning, went to lunch with the dev team and Jason. I picked up the tab, returned to finish the day. Was having a wonderful day until I came home and decided to attempt to post my daily photo from Brandon's MacBook!

Man, whoever says Mac's are easier to use is crackin smoke! 1.75 hours of pure frustration, I finally gave up, went to my beautiful Microsoft Vista Operating system and was able to pick a photo, make a few quick edits, and upload in no-time. (5 mins tops)

I am proud to say that I AM a PC! Microsoft ROCKS! I love all the MAC's in my family but they can keep their OS! I'll put Vista up against Leopard any day, and TWICE on Fridays! :)

Until tomorrow,
