RandD > 2009.02.19 (Thu) - Sacramento Sunrise

Skipped my Thursday run and drove downtown to see what the sunrise looks like from downtown. I grabbed a few shots before taking off for work.

Had a good day at work, thanks all for the well wishes and comments on yesterdays photo. Bobby had to skip our usual lunch, took off a bit early to go pick up an alternator for the Mustang. Got home and quickly replaced it, then took off to see Kayla and Peyton. Got lots of hugs from both, we played, giggled, and laughed lots.

Posting from the Anderson's, gotta take off to get home before Robin wakes up. Hope you all had a good day.

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2009.02.09 (Mon) - Sunrise Moonset

Got up this morning and was getting ready for work when Robin called to let me know that the moon was setting and that it might make for a good photo. I stopped on my way to work and made my way to the top of a hillside near our home to grab this shot.

As for the rest of my day... Work was work, getting home was nice. Spent a lazy evening with Robin, picked B up from work and now ready to turn in...

Hope you all had a nice Monday!

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2009.02.02 (Mon) - Didn't take a photo today so I decided to post one from our Saturday downtown with Jennifer. This one was on the steps of the Cathedral.

Work went okay, thought I lost my wedding band but turns out I left it on the vanity in the master bath. I was relieved...

RandD > 2009.03.06 (Fri) - New take on old Neon.

Another good day at work, got in around 6:00 but didn't get in the office until 6:30 due to the length of time it took for the officer to write the ticket. I've learned my lesson.

Made good progress on the docs today, broke off at 8:15 to run to the Friday morning meeting. Was flying solo again so returned to a quiet office (Furlow Friday for the State workers) and wrapped things up by 3:30PM.

Got home and Robin was cooking dinner. I ran to my parents to grab a printer he needs looked at. Returned home and I watched Fireproof with Jen and Robin. B went to Richard's to spend the night and the three of us ran downtown for a photo walk.

The plan was to photograph the Esquire theater but their Neon was not lit so I grabbed this shot of the Crest from a different perspective. Hope you like it.

Got to get up early for our Anniversary plans. We've got to be at the boat launch at Lake Natomas (Negro Bar) at 6AM for our morning outting.

Hope you all had a good day, until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.07.19 (Sat) Robin worked very early and got home around 2PM. Brandon and I got up late, I scratched my cornea last week and it hasn't healed so so I had to run to the doctor to have him looked at. I got some eyedrops that should have it feeling better by Monday.

After picking up my prescription, we took the Mustang to Bob's car wash. It got pampered with a wash, and interior cleaning, then we picked up Briana and went to a local car lot to test drive a BMW 325 Ci that Robin has had her eye on for a while. Later, we returned home (without the car) and hung out until Robin got home.

The four of us when swimming for a while, then Robin fired up the BBQ and cooked a TriTip for dinner. After dinner we all ran out to Rancho Cordova to look at a giant spider web but the web was not getting any evening light so we'll have to come back to it some time in the early morning to shoot that. After the web we drove further away from our home looking for a shot, we ended up in the country.

We stopped to pet these beautiful horses and I decided to shoot the two of them in the low evening light. After this, we happened upon an old barn and shot it before returning to our neighborhood to grab some ice cream at Leatherbees.

See you tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.12.27 (Sat) - Stop and smell, they are beautiful!
RandD > 2008.09.26 (Fri) - Finally a Friday, I am so glad Robin has weekends off now, we hung out together for most the night. We watched the debate, Brandon wasn't feeling good. Ran Bri home and was getting ready to turn in for the night when I realized I hadn't posted.

Here is a shot of one of my favorite WWII fighters, the Vaught F4-U Corsair. I prefer the traditional Corsair blue paint scheme but this is still a beautiful bird!

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.06.12 (Thu) - Got through work today, one more day and then I can rest for a week! Wasn't very green today, took 4 wheels to work, when I returned Robin was sleeping and B&B were watching a movie so I grabbed the camera bag and took off in the car.

I drove to Forrest Hill, decided to go all the way down to the river under the Forrest Hill Bridge hoping for a good shot but it was very hazy. I had fun racing up the winding road back up to Auburn and came out in old town. I stopped and walked around the old courthouse and grabbed this shot.

See you tomorrow!

RandD > 2009.04.14 (Tue) - Cliff side in April

Had a good day at work, got in around the usual time, worked out some issues with some code from the day before. Paired up with Rob for a bit today, then back to debug some of my own code. The three of us went to lunch at Taco Bell, Rob's treat! Had a nice time hanging out with them but eventually had to return to the office. I worked late, first one in and last one out.

The drive home was nice, I was driving north on Sunrise Boulevard and the sky to the west was blue and clear while the sky to the east of Sunrise was cloudy and looked very menacing. As I crossed the American River I noticed the end of a rainbow so I decided to go to the cliff overlooking the river to see if I could get the shot. After almost getting a parking ticket and then hoofing it up the side of the hill to the cliff I arrived to discover that my memory card was back in the car. I ran back to grab it and returned too late to catch the rainbow. There was a young woman sitting next to one of the old oaks playing guitar and working out the lyrics to a song she was writing. I was hoping she would stay there until the sun got low enough to reach her but she left before that happened. I grabbed several shots of the forming clouds and liked this one the best. (After some PP).

Returned home to find two packages had arrived for me, a book on design patterns, and my new bike jersey and shorts. Looks like I'll be riding in tomorrow for the first time in months. Brandon just got home from work and Robin is waking up now so I am going to run.

Hope you all had a great day, until tomorrow...
