RandD > 2009.01.14 (Wed) - My alarm went off early today, I had planned on biking in but decided to reset the alarm and spend another hour cuddled up with my sweetie instead.

Work went well, we took Mark out to lunch to celebrate his new position with SGS. After lunch we got to work doing some estimating and then finishing up some more screen designs.

Got home and Robin asked me to put the Yukon on the charger because it wouldn't start. I did some troubleshooting and determined that it was the starter. We ran to Kragen and picked up a rebuilt one and returned home to work on the project. I decided to pull Brandon off of his X-Box game with Richard to teach him how to replace a starter. (He is young and his knuckles heal more quickly)

It took us about 40 minutes, I got a bit greasy while supervising but Brandon did the most of the work. Cleaned up with some GoJo, I love that stuff, it smells like oranges! Took the old starter back to get the refund for the core charge and then returned home to grab my daily photo.

Robin grabbed some great portraits today, check them out!

I wanted to take a quick shot so I could watch American Idol with Robin so I went for the oranges on the dining room table.

Hope you all had a great day.

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.12.25 (Thu) - Merry Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas. Most of us stayed the night at Kayla's place, My Mom, Pop, and Sis showed up around 6AM and we started the day out with breakfast and coffee. We woke up Peyton and then began the gift exchange.

We all returned to our place later for dinner and a movie. It was a lovely Christmas, I hope yours was as nice.

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.12.14 (Sun) - The four of us stopped at Colfax on the way home for a shot of all of us in the snow. We got the tripod out and I composed the shot and set the timer and here is the result!

We got home, unpacked, dropped Bri off at home and then the three of us ran off to Kayla's to install MS Office on her PC's since she starts school this week. While we were there we got to visit and play with Peyton before heading home. Boy am I tired of driving!

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.10.01 (Wed) - Slept in today, got in to work a bit late so I worked a bit late. Got home, ate dinner with Robin and then watched some news. I wanted to spend the evening with my sweetie so I grabbed this quick shot.

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.06.13 (Fri) - Back on two wheels today, left late so I cruised straight down busy Sunrise to cut 2 miles off my commute and saved 10 minues. Got in early and wrapped up all my work by quitting time! I may have to pop into a meeting on Tuesday but other than that, I am off for 10 days!

The ride home was hot, we had Peyton and Robin and I took her swimming! She loved it more than we did. After Kayla got off work and took Peyton away I took off with my sweetie for a drive up to Auburn. There was a big car show so we had to park and walk up and down to look at all the beautiful restored cars.

I grabbed this shot before it got too late, I don't know what kind of car it is, but it was nice. Here are some more shots from the event. After grabbing our shot we walked back to the car, put the top down and I took Robin on the drive I took yesterday, on they bay back we hit a low flying bat.

It was a nice way to start my vacation, I rented a 10mm fisheye that will arrive Monday so I look forward to playing with it!

Take care until tomorrow,

Darron
RandD > 2009.02.03 (Tue) - Another sunrise!

Had a nice run this morning, I had trouble sleeping last night so I didn't feel real strong. My time wasn't too bad and my weight has started to show signs of decreasing again.

On the way in to work this morning I stopped again at the bluff above the American River near Sunrise Blvd to grab this shot.

Until tomorrow...

RandD > 2008.07.21 (Mon) - Well, I showed up for jury duty hoping to get dismissed but it wasn't to be. It is a criminal case but should only take a week by the judges best estimate. I informed my employer, they didn't sound to happy to hear it. I can't talk about the case, but it does look like it will be interesting.

Chris dropped Peyton off at our place around 4:30, we watched her until Kayla got off about 6:30. We ordered dinner, then the four of us took off to look at the tree the beavers have been working on. They are almost all the way through, I expect they will have it downed by the weekend.

We hung out for a while hoping to get another glimse at the beaver family but they did not cooperate. Security came though and hassled B & Bri (couple of teens hanging out alone behind a business complex!!!) but they informed security that they were with us (They drove right past us without a question) and that we were over taking photographs of beavers. The kids said that the security guard seemed a bit skeptical, but he bought their story and left them alone.

We left and were still in need of a photo and Briana told us of a nice view of our city from her Grandma's neighborhood so we drove to Rocklin to grab this shot.

This was my first time shooting RAW, I didn't do any processing. The photo was ISO 1200 so it is fairly grainy. Not the best photo but it was a beautiful view.

Good night,

RandD > 2009.01.28 (Wed) - Main street USA

Had a good day at work, ate lunch at my desk again and worked a bit later than usual. Got home and took off with Robin looking for a daily photo opportunity. We ended up in old Roseville on the parking garage right next to the Tower Theater. I grabbed this long exposure of Vernon Street before we ran off to dinner. We hit a nearby Chinese restaurant for dinner and then returned home to wrap up our evening together.

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.12.06 (Sat) - Cookie Baking Day!

Busy day, Robin and I got up fairly early. She packed up the kitchen and took off for her sisters place for their anual holiday cookie bake day. My plans involved completing my WiFi project.

I am setting up a point-to-point wireless link between my home network and my fathers house. (3,763 feet) I had a final trip to Frys Electronics and mounted the directional antenna on my place and then packed up my gear and took off for my fathers place to set up his end. As it turns out, the antenna on his place is not quite strong enough, I can see my wireless signal from his place but cannot get a strong enough signal to set him up on our network. I'll have to break down and purchase the higher gain antenna and it will work for sure. For now I have him connected wireless on a nearby open hot spot.

While out and about I stopped in to check on the girls and steal a hug and kiss from Peyton.

Robin brought home some cookies and I grabbed this quick shot so I could get to bed.

Until tomorrow,
