RandD > 2008.07.31 (Thu) - Good day at work, more design documents to work on... Sometimes I think we'll never get to write code! Went to lunch with Bobby, took a short Starbucks Coffee break with Rob toward the end of the work day. I got home and it was just Robin and I so we grabbed the camera and took off to check out the beaver tree. The tree was down but not by the beavers, looks like the city decided it was becoming unsafe so they finished the job with a chain saw. We drove out to old Sacramento where we ate dinner at the Rio City Cafe. We ate out on the patio over looking the river, it was nice. After dinner we walked down to see an old replica of the Nina that had sailed here from Brazil. After that we wandered around, shot some photos, grabbed some ice cream and returned home just before Brandon. While wandering Front street I saw our flag, it was backlit with the sun showing though and I thought it looked really nice so I grabbed this shot. Here are the rest of todays photos. RandD > 2008.12.24 (Wed) - Had a very nice day, spent the morning cleaning, wrapped all the rest of the presents and then took off for Mel and Craig's for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner and gift exchange with Robin's side of the family. We had a blast, the little ones did very well again this year. It was very nice being with family, laughing, loving, sharing. We ran back home and dropped off some of our gifts and then picked up Bri and headed up with Jen to Kayla and Chris's house. It took a while to unload the gifts and then I had to pick out a pic for my daily gallery. It was tough but I decided on one with Peyton. Merry Christmas Eve to you all, I'll see you tomorrow... RandD > 2008.12.31 (Wed) - Goodbye 2008, I welcome the new year! The end of a very long year, taking the day off with Robin today. I got up early and went out by myself to grab this shot. This is of the Civic Center in Downtown Roseville, nine different exposures merged as hdr and then had fun changing the curves until I arrived at this. Happy new year to all, until next year.... RandD > 2008.12.18 (Thu) - Pleanty more snowmen where these came from! Wrapped up the last of this weeks design docs, earlier than I had expected! I got in a 6AM and was prepared to work a long day but things went smooth so I got to cut out on time. I usually do lunch with Bobby on Thursdays but he had a field trip with his son so I ended up having a nice lunch with Mark. Got home and hung out with Jen, B, Bri, and Richard. Cory showed up a bit later and I got Robin up soon after that. We had leftovers for dinner, then watched Dark Knight. Took a call from my friend Pat, then later, Robin lost her keys AND her ATM card. I had fun giving her grief because it is usually me who loses the keys and wallet. Oh what fun it was! (For me, she didn't think it so funny, hehe) Man, I am just rambling on, who really cares, right? Okay... Took off and put gas in her car while she got ready, watched a video intro Brandon created at school with the new Tri-caster system, saw Robin off to work and then grabbed yet another snowman shot so this old man can get to bed. I enjoyed looking at your photos today, I need to take time to leave some comments. Until tomorrow, Darron
RandD > 2008.12.08 (Mon) - Stereotypical Monday at work, DNS issues on the network brought productivity to a halt. Spent most of the morning trying to work around the issues but in the end we just had to wait for IT to get the issues resolved. Got home and Robin had cooked a wonderful dinner, we ate dinner and I grabbed a quick shot for the daily gallery. This was a last minute effort but not too bad considering. RandD > 2008.09.19 (Fri) - [Mike, John, & Jen] Finally a Friday, it was a good day at work. Mike liked the photos from our session yesterday. Got home after work and hung out with the family, Peyton was over. Dropped B off for an overnighter, stopped by my parents with Bri & Peyton, then Robin took Peyton home and I ran over to Pat's place. Pat and I had not seen each other since High School, we hung out for the evening and it was getting too late to take a photo so I decided to post another one from yesterdays photo shoot. I really like this one of the three of them, what a nice looking family! Until tomorrow, Darron
RandD > 2008.10.27 (Mon) - Good day, got in early but had some troubles re-working some stored procedures to include a new recordset. Worked most of the morning on it. I went to lunch late, came back early, and finally asked Budd, our DBA, for some of his time. Despite being very busy he stopped to help me and within a few minutes he had me pointed in the right direction. I liked working at Intel but never had a chance to work with people like the ones I work with now! I am very pleased to have the opportunity to work with such talented and helpful people. Got home and spent time with the family. Robin was home and cooked a very nice meal, Smoked Salmon. We went to bed early and I couldn't get to sleep when I realized I hadn't taken a daily photo. I got back up and grabbed this shot of Brandon watching Spiderman. Now back to bed... Until tomorrow, Darron
RandD > 2009.03.03 (Tue) - Stained Glass Evening Nice day, got in to work early and had a productive morning. Planned on doing lunch with Bobby but Mark emailed to say he was going to stop by and have a lunch meeting with Mike and I so had to bail on our lunch plans. Lunch with Mark and Mike was good, just had some updates to share with us over lunch. Back to work, the second half of the day went okay, wrapped up one set of module specifications before taking off for home. Stopped at Action camera and exchanged the tripod head up for the Manfroto 322RC2. Okay, I am really in trouble when Robin reads this tomorrow. Got home to find Brandon and Richard battling forces of evil on X-box. I grabbed a quick bite to eat and took off in the rain looking for a photo. I stopped a few places in town but grabbed this shot on my way home. This is a Presbyterian Church right around the corner from our place, I love their stained glass. Robin is just getting up now, so I'm going to run! Until tomorrow, Darron
