RandD > 2008.09.29 (Mon) - Typical Monday at work, got home and watched some TV with Robin, then went out front to look for a shot. I was not really feeling too inspired or motivated so I didn't want to go far. The sky looked nice with sun setting and the light hitting the clouds so I grabbed this shot.

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2009.04.18 (Sat) - Farewell

It was a good day, we slept in a bit and had a slow start. We took off for Chris and Kayla's house before noon. We arrived and played with Peyton for a bit but then took off for Yuba City to hit Lowe's and Home Depot. We ate lunch while there, then returned and began working on getting the sprinkler system set up. We hooked up the manifold and the valves and then began connecting pipes and sprinklers.

When we were done, we cleaned up and the girls started cooking dinner. I took off with the camera to find a photo opportunity for my daily # 365. I grabbed a few series of bracketed shots for another hdr and ended up with this after processing.

Well, this was the last shot I plan to post in this gallery. It was a long rough year with many lessons learned and hopefully much growth. I plan to remain active in the S'Mug daily community, the coolest and most dedicated bunch of people I have ever run into. Thanks all for your comments and for sharing your lives with me through your photography. Take care!

Hope you all had a great day, until tomorrow...

RandD > 2009.01.25 (Sun) - Slept late, missed church, Robin cooked breakfast, then we went shopping at Costco. The rest of the day was very lazy, we hung out and didn't do much. We picked up a juicer and Robin made some nice juices around lunch. I decided to try some smoke and light shots for my daily photo but the first attempt turned out to be a disaster. I'll try again some other time...

Around dusk I took off for the local Shopping mall to see if I could grab a good shot of the sunset. This was the favorite of al the shots I took.

Arrived home, Jen and Cory stopped by and we all had dinner together, it was nice.

I hope you all had a good weekend.

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.07.05 (Sat) - Robin went in to work at 4AM, I had planned on going on a long bike ride but decided to sleep in and boy did I. I slept until 9:30 and then decided to get some work done around the house. Brandon helped me move the entertainment center into Jens old room and get the front room cleared out, cleaned, and ready for the new TV stand that should arrive next week. Brandon took care of wiring up all the AV equipment up to the new HD TV. I used to love doing that when I was his age but now I hate it, good thing he loves it. (He IS an audio tech now, lucky for me)

Robin got home around 2:40, we finished the movie we started the day before, "There Will Be Blood" was really bad even though I hear it won awards. After the movie we napped, then Robin and I ran off to hear a friend of mine who was speaking. After that we picked up Brandon at home and the three of us when to Sonic to try a Sonic milk shake, Robin heard that they make the best. The wait was long but it was well worth it. The shakes were great. We sat outside and listened to "Sonic Radio" and enjoyed our drinks before heading home for the night. This is not the best photo, I know, but I am ready for bed so this is it for the daily photo.

Good night,

RandD > 2009.02.20 (Fri) - Lincoln Date Night

A pretty good Friday, got to sleep in a bit then showed up early for our 8:30 status meeting. The meeting went a bit long due to some database discussions. Got back to the state offices by 11:00AM. It was a furlow day for the state workers so the building was very quiet. Took off at noon to grab a bite to eat, I stopped and vaccuumed the car and got it washed while I was out. Got back and finished the day at my usual time.

Got home and ate a quick bite to eat and then grabbed Robin and the camera and took off for a little Friday night adventure. I took her to Lincoln where we walked up and down the main strip and snapped photos while taking in the sights. We talked about some silly work fears that have been on my mind, she tried to convince me that it was all in my head. It can be a scarey place to hang out some times. (My head, that is)

We stopped at a Mrs. Fields Bakery and got some ice cream and just hung out. Nice little "date night".

I was looking at your photos the other day and one of them inspired this shot.

Hope you all had a nice day, I wish you all a wonderful weekend.

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.09.20 (Sat) - Today started a bit rough, the mortgage company screwed up and took this months payment out of our account twice and put us in a negative balance. I spent the morning on the phone trying to get it all sorted out. Our account won't be credited until Tuesday so we are temporarily "broke" until then. Brandon was nice enought to purchase some groceries for the family. (Hehe) We had filled our tanks and paid our bills so we will be fine, just made for a frustrating morning.

So we hung out, watched a movie, played with the new SB-800. I grabbed this shot out back with the new SB-800 flash unit and a warming gel filter. I was pretty pleased with the way this rose shot came out.

Later we drove out to Folsom Lake for a little star gazing and walking along the beach, all in all it was a nice day.

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.05.27 (Tue) - Robin and I got home about the same time and it was such a nice day that we took off after dinner for a walk on the Miners Ravine Bike Trail.

The creeks were running high with all the recent rain and there were many different birds out. We saw wild turkeys, baby ducks, geese and many other smaller birds feeding on insects as the sun began to set. I shot a few good photos, Robin liked this one the best.

See you tomorrow,

Darron
RandD > 2009.02.16 (Mon) - Day off

We had the day off, got up early and took off with the camera. We went to breakfast at Karens in Folsom, then went for a walk on the bike trail that runs along Lake Natomas. We spotted some dear in the brush and I grabbed a few shots. I cropped and the shot still looked busy so I decided to try some SC to bring the focus on the dear and not the colorful brush. Now for another lazy day...

Until tomorrow,
