RandD > 2008.08.24 (Sun) - Nice day, we started our day with an excellent worship service! The music was great, as usual. We had a guest speaker who was visiting from Captial Christian Center, his message was very uplifiting. After service we all went to breakfast together, then home and hung out watching TV and, well, I did catch a brief nap.

I took off for a Sunday night fellowship and then returned home and grabbed Robin and B to go grab a daily photo. I've passed this theater several times recently and it looks so nice all lit up so I decided to run out with the camera and grab a quick shot. We didn't spend much time there, Robin and I wanted to get a 5k walk in before bed time so this is the best I have to post today.

The walk was good, just over an hour was not too bad... Thanks all for your comments on yesterdays photo! And thanks for the links to the small worlds info. I'm gonna give this a try very soon!

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.07.06 (Sun) - Lazy day, skipped church this morning for a small mens book study, picked up B and Bri after their youth services. Robin was working so I took them to lunch at, where else, Taco Bell. After that we ran to Fry's to pick up some network and HDMI cables and returned home to hook up more equipment. B & Bri started a movie, I fell asleep. After we got up we hung out a while and then I took them both out to Cool River Pizza for dinner. Then we ran out to Folsom to see Robin. We did some grocery shopping and then headed home. After Robin got off we all watched a movie together. The movie was good (The Other Boleyn Daughter) but of course we knew how it was going to end. The cinematography was excellent, really looked good on the new HDTV.

After dropping Bri off at home I came home and needed to grab a shot. We have a small wooden box that we store the remotes in, it was polished and looked good in the room light so I grabbed this shot using my new bean bag "tripod" to steady the camera.

Goodnight,

RandD > 2008.12.23 (Tue) - Nice day off, got up early and took care of of my honey doo list. Robin didn't have time and she wanted me to take care of picking up stocking stuffers. Man, I never realized how hard that is, but it was fun!

Later I did some work on the long-range WiFi project, raising the antenna on my place by 5 feet and then by a few feet on my fathers house but looks like I am going to have to break down and purchase a hi gain antenna on his end to make it work. We rewired my fathers TV antenna with a new coax cable and then visited for a bit.

Later we picked up Jen and brought her back to our place, Robin worked on wrapping more gifts while I broke down boxes and swept outside.

Almost completely ready for Christmas now, I hope you are all too. I am looking forward to being with family, loving, and being loved.

Merry Christmas to all of you out there, here is one last snowman shot, I think I am done with snowman photos even though we have many more to shoot.

RandD > 2008.11.12 (Wed) - Moved to the new office this morning, things went well. We got our PCs set up and started setting up our new PC with the tools we need. Went to lunch with Mike and Rob, worked until 4:30 and then cut out. Robin was home, we went to spy on another store in her chain and then went to dinner. Returned home and finished getting PhotoShop installed then picked up Brandon from Youth.

I was ready for bed and hadn't taken a photo so I grabbed one from my Archives...

Unitl tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.07.18 (Fri) - Biked in today, I wrapped up the Process Flows and Use Cases that were due by the end of day Monday. I got called up for jury duty and have to report at 9AM Monday so all my deliverables had to be completed today. The ride home was hot and I worked a bit late so I took Sunrise Blvd all the way home.... Bad idea, I may have saved 10 minutes but it would have been safer to take my usual route.

Got home, showered, changed, and took Brandon out to dinner. We went and checked on the "Beaver Tree". It is still standing and while we were there we got to see some of the beavers swimming in the wetlands that they have created, it was pretty neat.

We returned home and Brandon hopped on X-Box live and I started reading a new book I picked up. It is a book on C# business objects. The guys at work have decided that we are going to use CSLA for our business object archictecture so I am going to need to get familiar with it fairly quickly. A couple of chapters in and I realized I needed to grab my daily photo so I opted for this self portrait.

RandD > 2008.07.11 (Fri) - Another good day at work, went to lunch with my friend Bobby then returned and wrapped up by 4:30 and headed home. On four wheels again so it took me a while to get home. Arrived in time to help assemble the new TV stand and then have dinner before running over to my parents to hang out with them and steal hugs from Peyton. After Kayla arrived to pick up the grandbaby, the four of us (Me, Robin, B, & Bri) headed up to Auburn for their second Friday cruise night. We ran into one the Sierra College photography professors (Rebecca) and had a nice chat before she had to run.

There were so many nice cars out, Brandon & Briana wandered around while Robin and I looked for my daily shot. We got some good photos but this was my favorite.

After grabbing the shot we wandered some more, took in the sounds of live music, grabbed some snacks and then headed back home so Brandon could finish moving all the AV equipment to the new TV stand and finish wiring it all up for us.

Good night,

Darron

ps: here are the rest of the shots from cruise night
RandD > 2009.03.14 (Sat) - Had a pretty good day. Last night we took Jen and Briana over to Kayla's house to spend the night and we brought Peyton back with us to spend the night here. She zonked out on the drive home, she slept most of the night, moving to our room around 2AM. We slept in, took her to see my Mom & Pop at their Saturday morning service.

Got home and hung out until Kayla returned to pick up Peyton. Kayla left Jen and Bri with us, we hung out for a while until it was time to take Briana home. There was a very emotional converation on the way home, Bri began crying before we got her home. We had a conversation with Briana's mom and boyfriend about some recent issues we are still trying to work through. I guess I am still being made out to be the bad guy in all this. I am willing to take the heat, I am certain I am doing the right thing in this situation.

Briana, if you are still reading my daily posts, Robin and I DO LOVE YOU and want Gods best for you. I am very sincere when I say this. Your value, significance, and worth should come from who you are in Christ, not from Brandon or any other male figure. You are important, you are valuable, you are loved!

We had planned on going out and looking for a daily photo but after dropping Bri off we had to return to have a talk with Brandon about some things that were troubling us. After things were sorted out at home we took off again, grabbed some coffee and went looking for a shot but the sun had gone down for the day.

We ended up at a carnival in Rocklin, met a fellow photographer. We had a nice chat with Ian and I got a chance to tell him about the SmugMug Daily Photo community before he had to run. I hope we get to see him join the group, I would love to see his work and it would be nice to have a DP friend near by us we could shoot with now and then. We grabbed some night shots of the carnival before returning home.

I decided to post a flower photo from yesterday to round out my weekly flower theme. Not sure what theme I'll go with next week, I was thinking a series of self portraits but... Ugh, not sure I can pull that off.

Hope you all had a nice day, until tomorrow,

Darron
RandD > 2009.02.22 (Sun) - Ballpitt

Started the day at church, went to La Bou for breakfast and then returned home to prepare for a trip to see Chris, Kayla, and Peyton. We invited my parents, Brandon had a Mexicalli meeting so he stayed behind.

The roads were wet so I drove slower than usual, arrived and had a wonderful visit with the family. We talked and played around, then we ate an early dinner together. Robin brought up a Sheps Chicken Pie, it was great.

I grabbed this shot of my Mom and Peyton playing in the new ball pitt, Peyton has a pretty good throwing arm and we had fun throwing the balls with her.

It was a nice day, see you tomorrow,

Darron
RandD > 2009.02.17 (Tue) - My Cubicle

The alarm went off early, I decided to skip the morning run and reset for an hour later. Got in to work early, didn't get much done before we were called into an emergency meeting back at the mothership. Of course the economic downturn has impacted our business and we were given the news that changes are coming. One position at our location was made "redundant" and we lost a colleague. Looks like the rest of us are safe for now. I said a quick prayer for the manager who is now faced with finding a new job while the new company stucture was being explained. Got back to work around 11AM and continued working some code issues I was having last Friday, After a quick conversation with Rob I was on back on track and stayed late to get everything working.

Got home and B had Jesse over so I went for a run. At mile 1 I knew I wasn't going to be able to finish 10K so I cut the run in half. My time was bad, better run on Thursday I hope.

Robin got up about the time I returned, I took a quick shower and hung out with her until she had to leave for work. I snapped a couple shots at work but nothing worthy of posting so I got creative and ended up with this after some digital processing.

Hope you all had a great day, goodnight!
