RandD > 2009.03.31 (Tue) - Breakin' the rules

Had a pretty good day at work, got in early to let Tom in, he's a contractor and it was a state holiday so he needed someone to let him in the building. We had a good chat about his work, then got started working on the validation for one of the user interfaces. We had a lunch scheduled back at SGS, food was provided and we got some company updates while there. Afterwards we had a brief meeting about new business opportunities and then returned to finish out the day.

We had planned a "Guys movie night out" but nothing really looked that good so we opted to run over to subway and grab a bite to eat and then walked over to Starbucks for some coffee. We had some fun messing with the baristas, maybe a little harmless flriting, and then hung out and talked for a bit before taking off to grab a daily photo.

The Kaiser public affairs person has all but blown off my written request to take photos from the top of their parking garage. If you remember, last time I was there I was run off by the security guards because I didn't have permission. Since Bonnie never got back to me I figured I would just go snap a couple of outlaw shots from the parking garage and then take off before security could run us out of there. It was fun even if the shots weren't that good.

Well, back to the guys night out, hope you all had a nice day. Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2009.03.02 (Mon) - Magical Roseville

Had a good day, went in a bit later than usual, going to start working later shifts while Rob is out enjoying time with Livia, his new daughter. Ate lunch at my desk, had a late meeting and took off about 6PM. The drive home was great, hardly any traffic at all. Got home and had Dinner with Robin and then we took off in search of a photo.

Ended up on Vernon Street in Old Roseville. Walked from the old Tower Theater to the old Roseville Theater where I grabbed this shot.

Hope you all had a wonderful day, until tomorrow...

RandD > 2009.02.11 (Wed) - Vernon Street Wednesday

Up early, off to work, left the camera home and worked till 4pm. Spent a bunch of my day re-working a query for a business object. What fun! (Not)

Left on time so I could get home to Robin. We gave Jen a ride to our place and then we took off with the camera. The sunlight was perfect but couldn't find anything to shoot so we went to dinner (Mongolian) and then drove around after dark looking for a shot.

I took Robin back to Vernon street where B and I went last night. I grabbed several shots but liked this one of the Tower Theater Marquee best.

Hope you all had a nice day,

Until tomorrow,

RandD > 2008.12.30 (Tue) - Didn't bike in today as planned, it was too foggy! After work I came home and hung out with Brandon most of the evening. We watched a bad movie and then he went online with his X-Box.

It stayed foggy all day and after dark I took off with the camera looking for a shot. Ended up on Vernon, was trying for a cool foggy shot of the tower theater. Wasn't pleased with any of the photos so I combined three of them and goofed around with the photoshop HDR.

Here is what I ended up with, until tomorrow!

RandD > 2008.07.30 (Wed) - Slept late, drove in, work went well. Yesterday I was having issues getting CSLA and the ProjectTracker project to compile on my system. Today I asked for assistance and got pointed in the right direction. Amazing how that works, with the advice I was able to get it all working. I took off at lunch looking for photo opportunities but found none. After work I returned home about the same time Robin did. We got changed, grabbed a bite to eat, and took off with the camera for a nice walk around the neighborhood.

We live in an older neighborhood but the homes and yards are well kept. I wish we had the same green thumb that some of my neighbors do.

I grabbed this shot, then took off for my regular Wednesday night mens study. It was great, left feeling pretty good. Nice to get a good attitude adjustment now and then.

I returned home, posted my daily photo and now off to enjoy the rest of my evening with Robin and Brandon.

RandD > 2008.07.23 (Wed) - Good day, defense wrapped up it's case and we should begin deliberation tomorrow! After jury duty I returned home to the family. I took B for a hair cut, Jen came over for a while, it was nice seeing her. She brought her friend Holley who seems very nice. We stayed in for dinner and then watched Peyton for a while so Chris and Kayla could go to the movies. I ran off for my regular Wed night book study with the guys and then returned home late but in time to see Chris and Kayla off then the four of us ran out to watch the beavers.

We sat silently in the dark an one of the beavers swam right up the the shore just 50 feet in front of us and began walking over to the tree when he spotted us. We could see his eyeballs looking right at us. Well, he was startled and jumped back in the water and disappeared.

After giving up on the beavers, we ran out to the Galleria mall where I grabbed this shot, then we ran to Sonic and we ordered some shakes before dropping Briana off at home at 11PM.

Hope you all had a good day!

RandD > 2008.07.21 (Mon) - Well, I showed up for jury duty hoping to get dismissed but it wasn't to be. It is a criminal case but should only take a week by the judges best estimate. I informed my employer, they didn't sound to happy to hear it. I can't talk about the case, but it does look like it will be interesting.

Chris dropped Peyton off at our place around 4:30, we watched her until Kayla got off about 6:30. We ordered dinner, then the four of us took off to look at the tree the beavers have been working on. They are almost all the way through, I expect they will have it downed by the weekend.

We hung out for a while hoping to get another glimse at the beaver family but they did not cooperate. Security came though and hassled B & Bri (couple of teens hanging out alone behind a business complex!!!) but they informed security that they were with us (They drove right past us without a question) and that we were over taking photographs of beavers. The kids said that the security guard seemed a bit skeptical, but he bought their story and left them alone.

We left and were still in need of a photo and Briana told us of a nice view of our city from her Grandma's neighborhood so we drove to Rocklin to grab this shot.

This was my first time shooting RAW, I didn't do any processing. The photo was ISO 1200 so it is fairly grainy. Not the best photo but it was a beautiful view.

Good night,

RandD > 2008.05.25 (Sun) - It was a good day, I started on a 60 mile bike ride to Old Sac but didn't make it all the way home because I forgot my lunch and my wallet. I called Robin and they were slow there so she was able to leave early. She picked me up at mile 49, whew, thanks sweetie for the rescue.

After we got home we relaxed by watching a movie (Cloverfield) with Kayla. Then we grabbed Peyton and we all went out for yogurt. Finally, Robin and I took off with the camera and drove though old Roseville where I grabbed this shot.

See you tomorrow,
Darron
RandD > 2008.04.23 (Wed) - Sculpure park in Roseville is an interesting place to visit. Brandon and I decided to swing by after dinner to see if I could get a good shot of Cosmos to post for today. More
