RandD > 2009.03.21 (Sat) - [SP, day 7 and final] Had a really good day, Joe introduced me to his Saturday men's Bible study group and I spent a couple hours with them studying Gensesis 21-24. They begin each study with prayer, going around the room and each man saying a prayer for the man to his left. Being new to the group I felt a little nervous and somewhat intimidated but I got through it okay. The study experience was great and I look forward to becoming a regular member. After Joe dropped me back off at home we all ran to Denny's for brunch, then came home and watched Peyton for Kayla and Chris so they could do some shopping for Peyton's B-day. (2yrs April 4) We took her over to visit with Mel and Craig and then ran to Toys R Us to get some b-day ideas with her. We picked up a folding chair for her, a little umbrella, and some Duplo blocks for our (g-parents) house and then returned home to work on building an awesome lego house! Peyton destroyed our masterpiece when she decided it was time to clean up, just picked it up and dropped it back into the container and giggled histerically as it crumbled. Later Kayla and Chris returned to steal her away from us, Jen and Ricky showed up and hung out for a bit before Corey arrived after getting off work. I took off for a bit to try and get my last self portrait for this weeks series. I don't know why I decided to so sp and must say I am glad it is over. RandD > 2009.03.20 (Fri) - Finally Friday [SP, Day 6] Had a good day, got to work at 6AM sharp and had nothing but trouble most of the morning. Was having some wierd issues with the Telerik Controls, couldn't get the Asynch Postbacks working properly on a new grid I've added. Ate lunch at my desk and continued to power through it until I got it working when my system locked up. I hadn't checked my code in all day so I lost everything. I locked my system and walked out the door at 4PM and didn't look back. So, the plan this weekend? Don't think about work until Monday morning! I arrived home to find the house bustling with people, Jen and Ricky were composing a new song. They were playing guitar and singing, B, R, and I watched some TV until they left and then I took the family to Strings for dinner. After that we drove to central Roseville, top of the parking garage on Vernon street and watched the trains. I grabbed this SP shot before we had to take off for home. I'm going to a Mens bible study in the morning with Joseph H, gotta read a few chapters so I am ready. I'll spend the rest of my evening sitting and reading with Robin. Until tomorrow, Darron
RandD > 2009.03.15 (Sun) - [SP, Day 1] Had a nice day, we got up early and took off to the west side of Roseville around 5AM. Got some interesting shots before the sun came up, then returned home to get ready for church. We went to the 11:30 service so that Brandon could join us in the Main worship service, it was nice being together the three of us. The message was good. We returned home and cooked lunch and ate together and then the three of us all split up the house and yard work and spent the next few hours getting things in order around our place. It felt good to get it all done, the teamwork really worked well. After getting the chores done, Robin got online for a while while Brandon played some X-Box. I ran off to the spare bedroom and made my first daily attempt at this week's self portrait series. I went with the natural light coming in the window, not really the best photo so I did what I could in the digital darkroom. Went with a selective color and cropped to hide some features I don't like. Well, hope you all had a good day. Until tomorrow... Darron
RandD > 2009.01.25 (Sun) - Slept late, missed church, Robin cooked breakfast, then we went shopping at Costco. The rest of the day was very lazy, we hung out and didn't do much. We picked up a juicer and Robin made some nice juices around lunch. I decided to try some smoke and light shots for my daily photo but the first attempt turned out to be a disaster. I'll try again some other time... Around dusk I took off for the local Shopping mall to see if I could grab a good shot of the sunset. This was the favorite of al the shots I took. Arrived home, Jen and Cory stopped by and we all had dinner together, it was nice. I hope you all had a good weekend. Until tomorrow, Darron
RandD > 2008.09.11 (Thu) - Today was a good day, woke up and watched memorial ceremonies for those who lost their lives seven years ago in the attacks against our nation and our way of life. I started my day feeling proud of our nation, of those who died serving to assist those in need on that fateful day, and of those who now serve in foreign lands to protect not only our freedom, but the freedom of those other lands. Work was great, we had some productive sessions and flushed out some important details of the design of the business objects that will become the heart of the application we are going to be building. The drive home was a bit long, was great weather to have the top down. Got home and relieved B & Bri of the babysitting duties so they could finish watching their movie. Peyton and I went for a short walk outside (with the camera of course) and I grabbed this photo as we returned from our walk. Robin woke up at 9PM, got ready and took off for work. Now I am posting my DP so I can go to bed. I am looking forward to having the weekend off with my sweetie. Can't wait for the lens to arrive tomorrow. I hope to get some great shots at the Air Races this weekend. Until tomorrow, Darron
RandD > 2008.09.10 (Wed) - Another long day at work. After work was nice, Robin was home so we hung out together in front of the television. Jen hung out with us for a while before she had to take off. Picked up B & Bri from youth around 9PM and now ready to turn in for the night. Until tomorrow, Darron
RandD > 2008.05.31 (Sat) - We slept in this morning and after Robins wonderful waffle breakfast we packed up the bikes and took off to the river for our first ride together. We were going to start off fairly easy with a "little" 20 mile ride along the river but Robin was doing so well on her new bike that we kept going. We stopped in Discovery Park (mile 14) to eat our packed lunch and then continue on the rest of the way to Old Sacramento, turning around at the railroad museum. After we turned around we stopped and grabbed this shot of ourselves on the river. Then we sat and watched a young girl and her family play in a fountain, it was great! After that we continued back to Goethe Park where we started our ride. We made it back but 33 miles ended up being a bit much for the first time. We had a great ride and got a nice nap in after we got home. We are going to get a lot of nice rides in together! Take care, Darron
RandD > 2008.05.21 (Wed) - What a day. I got a flat on my way to work today and my spare had a hole! I patched the spare and got to work okay but after work, the patch gave way. Luckly for me, Robin was off work so she came out and rescued me. On the way home we stopped at Performance Bikes and bought a new tire and some new tubes to get my bike back on the road. After that we ran home for dinner, dropped B & B off at youth and took off looking for a photo for today. It was nice out but very windy. We ended up walking around a business park and shooting some buildings. While we were there I shot this photo of our reflection in one of the windows. It was nice hanging out together.
